 Moses was the servant of living, God has chosen him. Bible says Moses was the very humble person all over the world, in his time. Even bible says Moses was couldn’t able to speak well, he was stammered. But God has loved him and use him in the mighty way.

Moses story is very long story, and I’m gonna explain this story in this article. But also if would love to read this story in the bible please checkout the book of “Exodus, chapter 2 to 20”

 

Moses: The Baby in the basket/ Moses in the Bulrushes:-

bible says after death of joseph, Pharaoh the king of Egypt stated Israelite to make slaves of them, and setting them to all kinds of hard labour. But, the more he oppressed them, the more they increased in number. So the Pharaoh began afraid that the Israelites might turn against him, and make them escape out of the land.

So the king commended that all the sons of the Israel or Hebrews, should be put to death as soon as they were born. At this time a Hebrew named Amram had a son born: he was a beautiful child, and for three months his mother, Jochebed succeeded in saving him from the Egyptians.

But at last she could no longer conceal him. So she made an ark, that is a sort of cradle, of bulrushes coated over with pitch, laid him in it, and then placed the ark among the reeds that grew by the riverside, Miriam the sister of baby Moses stood watching in the distance to see what would become of him. While she was watching she saw somebody coming, she realized it was pharaoh’s daughter and her servant. Pharaoh’s daughter was bathing. Suddenly she saw a little beautiful baby in the basket. She rescued him and named him “Moses” which mean “drawn out of the water”

Moses ran away from Egypt:-

One day, when moses grown up, he saw an Egyptian beating an Israelite slave. He tried to save his fellow Israelite. And Moses thought nobody would see, so he killed Egyptian and buried hid body. But someone saw what moses had done. When pharaoh heard what moses had done, he tried to kill him.

So he ran away from Egypt to the wildness, where he would be safe from pharaoh’s soldiers. After then moses become a shepherd in the wildness and there he married a woman, from that he had two sons.

God called the moses/calling of moses:-

One day while moses was taking care of his sheep, he saw a bush that was on fire. But the bush did not burn up. Moses went near the bush to be able to see it better. As he approached the burning bush, the voice of god said, “moses, take off your shoes, you are standing on holy ground.” God said, “I have seen the suffering of my people. I will send you to pharaoh so that you can bring the Israelites out of the slavery in Egypt. I will give them the land of Canaan the land, the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.   

 Moses retuned and the tenth plague:-

Moses and Aaron went to pharaoh. Aaron was Moses’s brother. They said, “this is what the god of Israel says, ‘let my people go!” but pharaoh did listen to them. Instead of letting the Israelites go free, he forced them to work harder. Pharaoh kept refusing to let the people go, so god sent ten terrible plagues on Egypt. Through these plagues, God showed pharaoh that he is more powerful than pharaoh and all of Egypt’s God.

God turned the Nile river into blood, but pharaoh still would not let the Israelites go. God sent frogs all over Egypt. Pharaoh begged moses to take away the frogs. But, after all the frogs died, pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let the Israelites leave Egypt. So God sent a plagues of Lice. Then he sent a plagues of flies. Pharaoh called moses and Aaron told them that if they stopped the plagues, the Israelites could leave Egypt. when Moses prayed, god removed all the flies from Egypt. But pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let the people go free. Next, God send livestock diseased, then all the farm animals that belonged to the Egyptians to get sick and die. But pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not let the Israelites go. Next the Boils pluge, Then God told moses to throw ashes into the air in the front of pharaoh. When he did, painful skin sores appeared on the Egyptians, but not on the Israelites.

God hardened pharaoh’s heart, and pharaoh would not let the Israelites go free. After that, god sent Hail that destroyed most of the crops in Egypt and killed anybody who went outside. Pharaoh called moses and Aaron and told them, “I have sinned. You may go.” So moses prayed, and the hail stopped falling from the sky. But pharaoh sinned again and hardened his heart. He would not let the Israelites go free. So God caused swarms of locusts to come over Egypt. These locusts ate all the crops that the hail had not destroyed. Then god sent darkness that lasted for three days. It was so dark that the Egyptians could not leave their houses. But there was light where the Israelites lived. Even after these nine plagues, pharaoh still refused to let the Israelites go free. Since pharaoh would not listen, god planned to send one last plagues. Then god announced one more plagues to send, the death of first born baby. Then pharaoh surrender, thus god rescued his peoples from Egypt.    

Moses and the red sea:-

The Israelites were very happy to leave Egypt. They were no longer slaves, and they were going to the promise land!, the Egyptians gave the Israelites whatever they asked for, even gold and silver and other valuable things. Some people from others nations believed in god and went along with the Israelites as they left Egypt. God led them with a tall pillar of cloud that went ahead of them with during the day, and which become a tall pillar of fire at night. God was always with them and guides them as they travelled. All they had to do was follow him.

After a short time, pharaoh and his people changed theirs minds and wanted to Israelite to be their slaves again. God caused pharaoh to be stubborn so that people would see he is the one true god, and understand that he, Yahweh, is more powerful than pharaoh and his gods.

So pharaoh and his army chased after the Israelites the Israelites to make them their slaves again. When the Israelites saw the Egyptians army coming, they realized they were trapped between pharaoh’s army and red sea. They were very afraid and cried out, “why did we leave Egypt? We are going to die!”

Moses told the Israelite, “stop being afraid! God told moses, “tell the people to move toward the red sea.” Then god moved the pillar of cloud and placed it between the Israelites and the Egyptians so the Egyptians could not see the Israelites. God told moses to raise his hand over the sea and divide the waters. Then god caused wind to push the water in the sea to the left and the right, so that a path formed through the sea.

The Israelites marched through the sea on dry ground with a wall of water on either side of them. Then god moved the cloud up and out of the way so that the Egyptians could see the Israelites escaping.the Egyptians decided to chase after them. So they followed the Israelites onto the path through the sea, but god caused the Egyptians to panic and caused their chariots to get stuck. They shouted “run away! God is fighting for the Israelites!” after the Israelites all made it safely to the other side of the sea, god told moses to stretch his arm again.

When he obeyed, the water fell on the Egyptians army and returned to its normal place. The whole Egyptians army drowned. When Israelites saw that Egyptians were dead, they trusted in god and believed that moses was a prophet of god.

 Moses and the ten commandment:- 

After god led the Israelites through the red sea, he led them through the wildness to a mountain called sinai. This was the same mountain where moses had seen the burning bush. The people set up their tents at the base of the mountain. God said to moses and the people of Israel, “if  you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my prized possessions, a kingdom of priest, and a holy nation.”

 Three days later, after the people had prepared themselves spiritually, god came down  on top of mount sinai with thunder, lighting, smoke, and a loud trumpet blast. Only moses was allowed to go up the mountain. Then god gave the covenant and said, “I am Yahweh, your god, who saved you from slavery in Egypt. Do not worship others gods.” Do not make idols and do not worship them, because I, Yahweh, am a jealous god. Do not use my name in a disrespectful way. Be sure to keep the subbath day holy. In other words, do all your work in six days, for the seventh day  is a day for you to rest and to remember me.” “honor your father and mother. Do not murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not desire to have your neighbor’s wife, his house, ro anything that belong to him.”

Then God wrote these ten commandments on two stone tables and gave them to moses. God also gave many other law and rules to follow. If the people obeyed these laws. God promised that he would bless and protect them. If they disobeyed them, god would punish them. God also gave the Israelites a detailed description of a tent he wanted them to make. It was called the tent of meeting and it had two rooms, separated by a large curtain. Only the high priest was allowed to go into the room behind the curtain, because god lived there. Anyone who disobeyed god’s law could bring an animals to the altar in front of the tent of meeting as a sacrifice to god. A priest would kill the animals and burn it on the altar. The blood of the animals that was sacrificed covered the person’s sin and made that person clean in god’s sight. God chose Moses brother, Aaron, and Aaron’s descendants to be his priest. The people all agreed to obey the law that god had given them, to worship only god, and to be his special people. But a short time after they promised to obey, they sinned terribly.

For many days, ,Moses was on the top of the mount sinai taking with god. The people became tired of waiting for him to return. So they brought gold to Aaron and asked him to make an idol foe them! Aaron made a golden idol in the shape of a calf. The people began to wildly worship the idol and make sacrifice to it! God was very angry with them because of their sin and planned to destroy them. But Moses prayed for them. And god listened to his prayer and did not destroy them. When Moses came down the mountain and saw the idol, he was so angry that he smashed the stone on which god had written the ten commandments. Then Moses beat the idol into powder, threw the powder into some water and made the people drink the water. God sent a plague on the people and many of them died. Moses made new stone tablets for the ten commandments to replace the one that he had broken. Then he climbed the mountain again and prayed that god would forgive the people. God listened to Moses and forgive them. Moses came back down the mountain with the ten commandments on the new tablets. Then god led the Israelites away from mount Sinai toward the promised land.
